Right Royal Knees Up

Love it? Hate it? Embrace it, it's happening. Willy and Kitty are getting married on Friday 29th of April and because of this magical event, we all get the day off work - I'll drink to that! :)

With that in mind I've been having a look on http://www.notonthehighstreet.com/the-royal-wedding at all the lovely British delights that are on offer to celebrate the wedding. There are some really great little bits and bobs available and I've stuck my favourites down here...

So there we have it, a brilliant collection of Britishness... now I want a cake and some champagne! :)

Postcard it up!

So, I've been looking around for a new clutch bag and I've really been struggling, mainly because I didn't just want any old clutch bag - I wanted a clutch with an envelope/postcard style to it.

After narrowing down my searching I can up with this glorious Lulu Guinness number:

It's so pretty and I really do love the postcard/envelope styling of this clutch... however, because it's Lulu Guinness it has a bit of a price tag attached... £225 - Eep!

This is the second option... Yves Saint Laurent have also gone along the postcard/envelope theme with this lovely patent clutch... obviously this is also a bit on the pricey side at £270.

Right... well... two delight clutches, both over £200 worth of monies... hmmm... is there a cheaper option I wonder?

THERE IS! Introducing Paper Planes beautiful bags of JOY...

Hazah! This is a Paper Planes purse and is really cute! It's also a bit of a bargain at £10.99. I love the gorgeous detailing on this bag, the little heart stamp and the air mail sticker are fab.

This is another number from Paper Planes, it's a lovely bag and costs £16.99! The little bow on this bag is delightful and I love the 'Buy Buy Baby' text.

And last but not least...

This beautiful overnight bag is also from Paper Planes and is a real bargain at £41.99! I think the map design on this bag is great and I really like the little envelope pocket on the front - it's all in the detailing my friends! :)

So there we go, fab designer bags for when you're feeling a bit flush... but bargain beauts for when you're tightening the purse strings a bit!

If it ain't brogue, don't fix it

This is just a speedy post to wish everyone a very happy Easter and also to express my love for my brogues with a quick piccy...

Ooooh I love them so much, they're so comfy. My other half refers to them as my 'man shoes' but I don't care, I wear them any chance I get and they go with everything. I really don't mind if they drift in and out of fashion, I will wear them until they fall apart! :)

Anyhoo enough of that. Happy Easter everyone, I hope you've all had a super day whatever you've been up to.

Fancy That

I'm in one of those odd moods today... sometimes I really think someone should take my camera away from me... and Picasa as well.

I wish orange French Fancies existed outside of Easter... sad times.

Some sensible photos will follow soon enough I promise.

See by Chloe Lace Dress

Yikes, I haven't posted for a few days, it's been a bit manic! Staying in Dorset for a few days has been cool, went to Monkey World to see an orang-utan that I've adopted - he's gorgeous, but now I'm back home and back on the laptop!

So, I've already talked about how white is back and big at the moment and it does seem to be popping up a bit in the See by Chloe collection. I've seen the dress below and fallen in love with it, the problem - it's over £400 worth of dress, yeah... keep dreaming:

Ooooh it's just gorgeous, especially with that little black waist-cinching belt - love it.

So, I can't have this dress, but I have found a cheaper substitute...

Thank you H&M. This flared lace dress is a snip at £29.99 and I know that it's never going to be as nice as the Chloe one, but the styling is similar and all it needs is a cheap black belt from Asos to finish it off and you're good to go. I think I'm mainly in love with the tiered cut of the dress, it's so summery and flattering, especially with the caped top half - cute.

What do you think?

I'm also really excited about the Spring Summer 2011 Collection too - there really are some truly beautiful pieces available...

White Alright

Woop! I had a brilliant weekend. My other half surprised me with a birthday party and then cooked for me on Sunday, I'm full of cake and I'm very cheerful! :)

I decided today to post about a dress I found whilst lurking around on Net a Porter. I'm a bit obsessed with the See by Chloe range at the moment, it's stunning and so timeless. I found the dress below and instantly fell in love with it. It reminds me of an old school tennis dress, it's probably the pleated skirt and general shape that makes me think that.

Anyhoo, I wanted to do a post about another one of SS/11 trends which is - White... so this is a perfect opportunity to combine the two into one post of lovely joy. I do have to point out that not everything I have posted is white, mainly because you can go too far with a trend I think. While white is the main colour for this post I had to throw in some navy as well or else it would look like an outfit that would make you look like a fashionable ghost... I'm not sure how many people could rock that look?!

1.See by Chloe Pleated Knit Dress - £298
2.Reiss Evre Buckle Clasp Across Body Bag - £139
3.Kurt Geiger Brooke Shoes - £180
4.Accessorize Scalloped Edge Lace Cut Off Gloves - £8.00
5.Tatty Devine Bunny Brooch - £24
6.Day Birger Et Mikkelsen Set of Three Bangles - £70
7.Isabel Marant The Exhibition Beaded Necklace - £150
8.River Island Beige Bow Cloche Hat - £14.99
9.Disaya White Enamel Swan Ring - £56

So there we go… a gorgeous dress with some navy accents to break it up a bit! :)

70's Cool

It's Friday, it's Friday!

Seeing as it's been just so darn sunny and lovely this week my mind has been wandering towards the summer and summery looks and trends. This year I'm probably most excited about the 70's trend. While some awful fashion atrocities were committed in the 70's, some great fashion joys were also lurking... mainly flares, oh how I love flares. :)

So yes - flares, high-waisted everything, brown, orange, burgundy, BIG hats, BIG sunglasses and BIG, BIG wedges... get some 70's joy in your life...

Where do all these lovely pieces come from... alright... here, here:

1.Warehouse Plain 70’s Dress - £60

4.French Connection Jules Wedges - £135

Victoria Beckham Dresses

So... would you like to own a Victoria Beckham dress? I'm sure the answer to that question is almost certainly yes. My next question... do you have £1,000... because that's what it's going to cost you to buy a VB dress. Next question... do you still want a Victoria Beckham dress? Yeah... it's a small problem isn't it...

When the average lady will fork out around £45 for a nice dress it kind of raises the bar quite high for you to be able to obtain a gorgeous designer dress... but don't cry, all is not lost... for there is a brand that has come to save us all... that brand... Closet my friends, Closet.

I came across this brand a few years ago when the website Oli used to exist. I greedily spent my money grabbing masses of beautiful shift dresses and prancing around work in them, much to the annoyance of all of the other office girls who didn't know that Closet existed. Now that Oli has gone I've had to find the dresses that I love elsewhere... that's where Dorothy Perkins has stepped in. Oh sweet Dotty P's how I love thee for bringing the dresses back to me.

*ahem*

Think I've lost the plot... it's possible... but check out these beauts below and see if you're converted by the end:

Victoria Beckham Asymmetric Curve Neck Shift Dress
Closet Pink Asymmetric Pink Dress - £45

Victoria Beckham V-Neck Bell Dress
Closet Fuchsia Belted Flare Dress - £35

Victoria Beckham Panelled Waist Tunic Dress
Closet Orange Curve Seam Dress - £35
So there we have it... are you converted... ah go on, you know you are! Obviously I know that these dresses are a poor substitute for the real thing and I'm sure that one day the lovely Victoria Beckham will provide a range of dresses more obtainable to the average fashionista schmo... but until that day arrives... Closet it up ladies!

Floral Frolics

*Yawn* soooo tired! It's been a great weekend out and about, so I have rewarded myself some sofa-time today so I can catch up on my telly (finally watched the last two episodes of Being Human and watched Hot Tub Time Machine, which was ace... stupid, but ace).

While I've been sofa-surfing I've also been Googling like a mad thing - oh yes I can multi-task! With the weather being so nice this weekend I've been pondering another one of SS/11 trends - Florals. As mothers wake up all over the UK this morning to pressies and breakfast in bed from their little kiddies the main thing they'll all be receiving will almost certainly be flowers, so it seems quite appropriate for me to pick today to post about the floral trend.

Ah pretty things:

1.River Island Pink Print Crochet Kimono Dress - £39.99
2.KG by Kurt Geiger Eveline - £160
3.Mango Handbag M. Liceo-TC - £69.90
4.Accessorize Rose Stud Earrings - £5.40
5.Lipsy Mix Flower Bangle Set - £14
6.Stella McCartney Flowers of the Week Set of Briefs - £165
7.Oasis Floppy Flower Corsage - £8
8.Rock n Rose Ella Carved Rose Ring - £9
9.Miss Selfridge Lace Pearl Flower on Kirby - £5

So there we have it, florals and some pants... haha... I thought they were fun!

Oh and of course, Happy Mother's Day! :)

Pink & Black

I DID IT! Finally the working week is over and the weekend is opening out in-front of me - I can't wait to have some fun! I'd like to get this post started by saying a quick thank you for all of the lovely comments I've received this week and for all of you that have made me feel very welcome. I've tried to make sure that I returned the favour and posted on all of your blogs as well, thank you all kindly.

So to fashion.

I've been a bit addicted to Net-a-Porter today, I've been ogling all the 'precious things' and debating on whether to spend my impending birthday money on one big expensive thing or whether to visit H&M or ASOS and go nuts... decisions, decisions! :)

With that in mind I've decided to compile a collection of designer beauties along with a few cheaper and cheerful items, all in pink or black - enjoy.

Ooooh lovely things, but who are they by... here's the shopping bit:

1.Vivienne Westwood Anglomania Lady Dragon Black Skull Shoes - £120
2.Alexander McQueen Black/White Enamel Skull Bangle - £150
3.River Island Red Swallow Print Babydoll Dress  - £24.99
4.Isabel Marant Sodalite & Brass Charm Necklace - £105
5.Marc By Marc Jacobs Tossed Bird Modal-Weave Scarf - £175
6.Joseph Skinny Leather Belt - £65
7.Isabel Marant Rhodonite Charm Bracelet - £50
8.ASOS Oversized Button Stud Earrings - £4.50
9.Oasis Peony Corsage - £8

As you can see, I've got a bit of an obsession for skulls in fashion, I have no idea why but I just really like them! I'm in love with the Lady Dragon Skull Shoes, I've got a few pairs of Viv's shoes and they're just so darn pretty and actually quite comfortable, what more could a girl ask for! :)

I hope you all like my picks and have super weekends whatever you get up to!
